I am "Mamma Rosa" and with this post I inaugurate the Rosa Shop blog.
But first, let me introduce myself!
I am from Parma in the Emilia province.
I am the daughter and granddaughter of butchers (those who deal with the slaughter and processing of pork, ed.).
From my childhood I still have the memory of the smells and flavors of the cured meats prepared by my grandfather and my father or the memory of my mother who, after the first salt wash, dries the hams in the sun.
Many years have passed since then.
Life made me take other paths than the family tradition, but the passion for the typical products of Emilia-Romagna food and wine has never disappeared in me.
That is why one day I decided to create a company that, by exploiting the communication and sales channels made available by the Internet, would make the rest of Italy and the world aware of the excellence of the Emilian and Romagna culinary tradition.
To make my dream come true, I set out on a journey to find and select small local producers who give life to their products following ancient family recipes.
Small artisan workshops that work high quality raw materials, the result of the efforts of our farmers and our breeders, to give the world first choice products with ancient aromas and flavors.
Realities that, in order not to disappear, need to have visibility.
In fact, their closure would not only involve a serious loss for the territory both from a cultural and economic point of view, but also a weakening of our culinary traditions in favor of a standardization of tastes and flavors and the end of ecosystem that has made Emilia-Romagna the Food Valley of Italy.
And this is how in 2016, together with some collaborators, I gave life to Rosa srl, a company in the province of Parma which, moved by the awareness of the great potential of our territory, has set itself the goal of enhancing and promoting in Italy and beyond national borders only the excellence of the culinary tradition of Emilia-Romagna.
Over the years and various trips in Italy and abroad, we have discovered many realities and met in person many small and large food producers, people passionate about their work and their land, we have established relationships of friendship and collaboration and some we have welcomed their products on our site with joy for the satisfaction of our customers and those who always want to experiment with new specialties.
We think that food is not only a basic necessity, but also a way of knowing and living unforgettable human experiences.
We made our own the wise words of Carlo Petrini, writer, gastronome and founder of the Slow Food association:
“I need to know the history of a food. I need to know where it comes from. I have to imagine the hands that cultivated, worked and cooked what I eat ".
For our customers we offer ourselves as a reliable and efficient partner, able to provide a wide range of top quality typical Emilian and Romagna products, with no distance limits.
In fact, we have efficient logistical collaborators who allow us to make deliveries throughout Europe in a few days.
In conclusion of this first post I want to leave you with a small side note to make you understand how strong the desire is in me and in my collaborators to bring to the world, through online sales, the flavors of the agri-food tradition of Emilia-Romagna: in fact , we are founding members of the Italiaishere Consortium and members of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany and the United Kingdom with the code "Rosa srl".
